Today, T-Mobile officially announced the launch date for the Limited Edition Fender MyTouch 3Ghandset ($180), which was brought to life by a partnership between T-Mobile, music legend Eric Clapton, and Fender. Available Jan. 20, the new rock-and-roll-themed device will feature a sweet sunburst guitar finish, an updated music player to catch all your tunes on the go, seamless connectivity with your Mac or PC, as well as a 3.5mm jack so you can rock your studio cans instead of those tiny earbuds.
On the inside, you’ll get an included 16GB MicroSD card that ensures you’ll fit your music library in the palm of your hand, a set of preloaded songs from Eric Clapton, Wyclef Jean, and other artists, and a few musically inclined apps like Guitar: Solo. Running Android 1.6 (an upgrade to 2.1 is expected this Spring), you’ll get direct access to Google tools like Picasa, Google Maps, and YouTube, as well as customized screens. On the outside, the Fender MyTouch is coming with custom Fender shells, a Fender carrying case, and the “Rock Dock” — a docking station with speakers.
